Just got the proofs back from our photo shoot in San Antonio and I'm loving how they turned out. Here's one of my favorite family ones. Can't wait to see what they look like after she edits them :)

Mommy Wow! I'm a big kid now.

Bryce has a little pocket chart in his room and we have been working on some sight words. This book is all about 'the'. Also trying to get him to locate and point to the words on the page and understand directionality.

Oh, The Colors of Spring!

Took the kids to the park the other day and saw a small field of bluebonnets. This is the best pic I could get . . . hope to go back in a few weeks and take some more! Might be a fun pic to play with on photo shop. Hmmmmmm any takers ;) LOL

Busy Busy Bailey's

Raya celebrated her 1st birthday!!! I now have a 1 year old and a 2 year old OMG!! Poor thing got 3 shots at her well-check appointment and was a total grump on her actual birthday but was in a great mood for her party at the park :) Looks like it's time to take away the bottle, boob and mid-night wake up/cuddle time. . . booooo! I'm having a hard time excepting I now have two toddlers!!

Had our family photo shoot last Friday with a photographer from San Antonio. Shoot went really well and I'm super excited to see how the pics turn out. This was one of Raya's outfits ADORABLE~~

Going to have a sister-in-law! Brandon and Trista are engaged!!! The proposal was so sweet and Bryce had a key role in their special day. . . he was supposed to say "SAY YES TRISTA" at just the right moment AND believe it or not he did GREAT!! So happy for them and look forward to what the future holds :)

Teeth!

Well, it must be spring time because we have our own little bunny! Raya looks so cute and silly with just her 2 top teeth coming in. She has been super grumpy the past few days so I have a feeling more teeth are on the way.

Can you believe it's March already? It's going to be a busy month!

Here's a few things that have already happened in the Bailey house:
1. Finally got news back on the Windcrest job and Kevin did not get selected. Good news is that we don't have to move! I was getting a little sad at the idea of having to leave here . . . we've worked so hard on this house.
2. Raya is getting her top two teeth! Yes, she is almost a year and these are her first teeth. . . I know, it's crazy.
3. As ya'll know we have potty trained Bryce but we still put him in a diaper for bedtime. Well, he seemed to be waking up dry most nights so we decided to try and take away the diaper AND hooray for Bryce! Two nights of no diaper and no pee!!!!
4. I LOVE THE BACHELOR! Every season I tell myself that I'm not going to watch and every season I get pulled in. I think Emily is just the cutest thing that I have ever seen and I really really hope that he picks her . . . if not, she should be the new bachelorette!
5. Kevin is playing soccer again and let me just say that the dude still thinks he is 18! I didn't go to the game last week b/c it was during the kids naptime and he comes home all bruised and scratched up AND got a yellow card! WHAT? Oh, and they still tied 0-0.

Here's a look at what's to come:
6. IT'S RAYA'S BIRTHDAY MONTH!!!! My little girl is going to be 1 on March, 29th :) We are going to have a butterfly birthday for her at the park. FUN FUN FUN!
7. It's been so pretty outside we stared working on the side fence and garden. Kevin wanted to try and grow beans this year so he's making another garden in the back :) Wish us luck
8. I'm trying out a new Bailey B product . . . it's a secret but if it works out I'm going to be sooooo excited!!!
9. Brandon (my brother-in-law) is getting his masters and Trista (B's girlfriend), Amanda (Holl's girlfriend) and Jeanie (my mother-in-law) are all celebrating their b-days this month too :) PARTY TIME!
10. I'm getting excited about spring cleaning! Container Store here I come!!!

Playground Fun

We have had a few beautiful days here in good ol' Pflugerville and we all love our long walks to the park :)

Bryce wanted to take Raya down the slide "Daddy, I got her!" Look at poor Raya's face . . . she is not too sure about this.

Bryce is not the biggest fan of the swing but he gave it a try. Kevin was teaching him how to kick his feet and this is a pic of his "thinking face". What is it about boys . . . why do they always stick out their tongue when they are thinking??? hmmmmm am I alone here? Maybe it's just the boys in my family . . .

Raya was sooooo funny on the swing! She kept kicking her feet like she was running. I'll have to get a video next time :)

Mr. Smarty

We've been working with Bryce on his letters and sounds and he is doing AWESOME! Got to love his version of the ABC song LOL

Valentine's Day

Thought I would surprise Kevin and Bryce with a special Valentine's treat this year. . . banana moose pudding with nilla wafers YUMMY! Too bad it took me like an hour to cut 4 wafers into heart shapes ;)

But this smile made it all worth while!!!! I even got a "Happy Val-times Day Mom" from my little man when we put him to bed that night. Yep heart melting!!

Waiting

No real news about the Windcrest job. The city council is conducting background checks . . . still might be a few weeks before we find out.

Pond Visit

Bryce got the book 'Fix-it-Duck' for Christmas and it's one of his favorite bedtime stories :) Kevin and I thought it would be fun to go to the duck pond by our house and let Bryce see some real ducks! It was such a pretty day and he had a blast . . . he grabbed the bread and went around the pond pointing at the ducks and saying "hungry duck daddy".

Today we are going to do some computer research and discuss fiction and non-fiction :) Yes, the teacher in me keeps coming out . . . it's all about making connections!!! LOL my poor kid. I'm sure he is thinking 'Mom I'm only 2! Can you chill out with the text-to-text connections pleeease'

Interview

Yesterday was a big day for Kevin! He got invited to interview for the city manager position in Windcrest (a city inside San Antonio) and it went really well!!! He said that he left feeling confident and regardless of what happens he is happy with his performance. They will be making a decision and will let him know by Feb. 7th. If he gets the job it will mean selling our house and moving to SA. AHHHHHH the thought of having to fix up our house and sell totally stresses me out! But, change is always good . . . right?

Poor Lil' Miss

Raya has had a hard few days. She got really sick on Saturday night and we were not able to bring down the fever with Tylenol so we had to call the emergency nurse and get the low down on fever protocol. They told us that we had to keep it under 105 or head to the ER so Raya and I spent the night in a cool shower. Sunday we took her to the dr and after a few blood and urine tests they told us she had a virus and would be just fine in a few days. Today she woke up fever free and seems to be on the road to recovery! YAY!!!

Bumps and Bruises Here We Come
Raya is starting to try and walk and she is falling all over the place. This is a pic of her first bump . . . poor thing fell into Bryce's choo choo puzzle box. Wish there was a way to put her in a giant bubble for the next few months.

'What's New Wednesday'
1. Had a fun Christmas with the kids! We stayed home for the first time ever on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning and it was amazing to have some time with just our own little family! Bryce's favorite thing under the tree was a little box of goldfish crackers lol!

2. Kevin got a horrible case of the stomach bug the day after Christmas and had to go to the ER to get an IV of fluids . . . and I got it later that night YUCK! Thanks to our moms we made it through and the kids never got sick!

3. I'm so lucky to have a hubby that enjoys cooking!!! Don't know what I would do without him!

4. Raya had her 9 month dr visit and is doing super! She is almost 20 pounds and crawling and pulling up all over the place. I don't think it will be too much longer before she is walking!!

5. Mr. Bryce is only 2 and his mean mom is treating him like a kindergartner! He knows all his letters, quite a few sounds and we are about to start on sight words and sight word readers . . . I think he will be reading by 3.

6. I got several beanie orders for Bailey B and have had a blast making cute things for everyone. I also made my first 'man scarf' for my brother-in-law this Christmas and he loved it!

7. Bryce is very into puzzles! We got him a 24 piece farm puzzle for Christmas and he can already do it by himself. So, we went to Target and bought him a few more and he is doing great!

8. Kevin has some job possibilities this month. . . big changes could be coming our way . . . please keep him in your thoughts.

9.Raya's first word I'm sad to say was 'dada' but she quickly moved on to 'mama' ;)

10. Bryce's new joke : "Horse Nap" yep, that's it . . . he made it up and thinks it's the best thing ever! LOL
